Large blue smoke fired vessel. From the Solar Spirit range.

• This blue smoke fired pot adds a classy look to any interior and makes a really special gift.

• The height is 25cm and the width (at its widest part) is 20cm.

• I threw this piece on my wheel and then painted it with various slips and glazes.

• It was then fired in my electric kiln. After this firing I added some gold lustre (which contains real gold).

• After the gold was fired on again in my kiln, it was then taken outside to be smoke fired. This is a process where I add sawdust and other combustible materials around the pot and set fire to it and let them slowly burn around the pot during the night.
